Jabra FreeSpeak BT250 Headset
The Jabra FreeSpeak BT250 Bluetooth headset comes at a price-just under $100. But many users feel the price is worth it.
Audio
Like other Jabra headsets, the FreeSpeak BT250 comes with patented MiniGel(tm) technology that channels sound directly into your ear, helping you hear more clearly. Callers will sound great, and the microphone picks up your voice and transmits it clearly as well. Many users complain that the mic picks up more background noise than they would find ideal. If it's windy outside, or your in a crowded area, the person you're calling may find you difficult to understand. The users who mention this difficulty feel a wind suppression tip over the mic would help make this headset better.
Ease of Use
Getting the headset up is a cinch. The initial pairing process is intuitive and only takes a couple of minutes. After that, just turn the headset on and in seconds it's paired with your mobile phone. The Jabra FreeSpeak BT250 uses two control buttons, a volume rocker and a multifunction button. The multifunction button prepares the headset for pairing, manages calls, and turns the headset on and off. Both buttons are well sized and easy to locate and operate while the headset is in use.
Size
The FreeSpeak BT250 isn't the smallest headset on the market. But at 4 x 2.375 x 0.5 inches, it's plenty small for most people without making the buttons so tiny that they're a pain to use.
Fit
This headset gives a snug yet comfortable fit for most users. Two different sizes of MiniGel(tm) earpiece are included and each one can be molded to your own fit. And at only 0.8 ounces, it won't weigh too heavily on the ear. It should still feel comfortable even after several hours of continuous use.
Design
The Jabra BT250 has a curved design that puts the bulk of it behind your ear and partially concealed. It's a sleek look that still puts the control buttons in an easy to reach location.
Battery Life
The FreeSpeak BT250 advertises a talk time of 8 hours, but you might actually get more. One review site mentions getting a talk time of 11.5 hours out of this device! The standby time of 10 days is impressive as well.
Charger
The travel charger is a bit bulky and comes in two pieces, one of which is also used as a belt clip. The headset typically takes about two hours to bring it up to full charge.
Price
The Jabra Freespeak BT250 Bluetooth headset can be purchased for just under $100 wherever such headsets are sold.
