Verizon Bluetooth Cell Phones
Following is a list and brief description of some Bluetooth mobile phones that will work with the Verizon carrier.
Audiovox XV6600
This device features a QWERTY keyboard with a 3.5-inch screen. It supports email applications for Windows Mobile 2003 SE. It has good memory and speed with 64 MB of ROM, 128 MB of RAM, and a 400MHz Intel PXA263 processor. It can operate on Verizon's EV-DO network. Also comes with SDIO/MMC card slot, and a speakerphone. Priced at around $350 for a cameraless version or $550 with a camera. This phone is similar to the Audiovox PPC6601 for Sprint PCS.
LG VX8000
The LG VX8000 features a megapixel camera and camcorder. It comes with impressive sound including stereo speakers that give great volume. It's EV-DO and V Cast capable and it has a mini SD card slot and expandable memory. On the down side, the antenna juts out inconveniently. It doesn't offer email support or analog roaming. And it's battery doesn't last as long as the previous model. This phone can be had for $150.
Motorola E815
V Cast flip phone with an impressive 1.3 megapixel camera and an MP3 player. Features an impressive display. Supports 3G EV-DO network. Speakerphone; TransFlash card slot. This phone comes with 40 MB of RAM installed. The talk time is a little low at only 3 hours and it doesn't allow analog roaming. Bluetooth enabled but does not allow file transfers. Costs around $150.
Motorola V710
This phone supports analog roaming and comes with an expandable memory. It has a clear 18-bit display on a 2.2 inch (diagonal) screen. Speakerphone works well. Internal and external high-resolution color screens and expandable memory are additional features. The email support and battery life could be better. MP3 player functionality. So could the digital camera picture quality. Bluetooth enabled but does not allow file transfers. Costs over $400.
Palm Treo 650
QWERTY keyboard, an integrated Bluetooth speakerphone, a 312MHz processor, email support and world phone. Talk time is 4 hours. On the down side is low memory (23 MB) and the fact that it can't be used as a Bluetooth wireless modem. Verizon charges an extra $45 per month to users who access the Internet with this phone. Priced around $300.
RIM BlackBerry 7250
This device features a QWERTY keyboard but with a narrow display that only shows 3 icons in a row. It has 32MB of flash memory and 4MB of SRAM. Supports up to 10 personal and business e-mail accounts. The removable battery is a plus, allowing you to bring a spare. That's helpful since the phone only offers 3.3 hours of talk time.The device lacks a speakerphone. Priced around $200.
Samsung i730
This phone offers five-way wireless high-speed data support (IrDA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, CDMA 1xRTT, and EV-DO). If you need to stay connected at all times, this phone may be the answer. It also has a slide-out QWERTY thumb keyboard. Around $400.
